Nickel ist von hoher Härte und chemischer Beständigkeit. Neben seiner dekorativen und technischen Funktion dienen Nickelüberzüge auch dem Korrosionsschutz. Die Nickelschicht wird bei der OFB Oberflächenbearbeitung Kimax GmbH galvanotechnisch erzeugt, d.h. der Artikel wird in einen Elektrolyten getaucht und durch eine elektrische Spannung wird auf der Oberfläche ein Nickelüberzug abgeschieden.
