Rod lenses have an outside face that is polished and the ends are ground. Typical uses for rod lenses would be to generate a line image from a circular laser beam.
Rod lenses can be cut at 45 degrees for use in beam steering and other similar applications.

Knight Optical can supply you with high quality and cost effective Dichroic Hot Mirrors for use in optical systems where unwanted UV or IR light negatively impacts on the system quality. This includes UV and IR Sensitive Systems, medical illumination and display fibre optics.
Prolonged exposure to UV light can cause degradation in plastic materials resulting in cracking and, eventually, mechanical failure. Exposure to IR can cause undesired thermal energy and heat into the system that can damage delicate components.

Colour Glass Filters are good for selecting a particular wavelength to be absorbed so that the high out of band blocking in achieved. With regards to the use in Inline Cameras, Colour Glass Short pass Filters are more desirable as they cut out the IR wavelengths mean the imaging is not saturated with the IR giving the image better clarity.
Colour Glass Filters are polished sheets of special glass that have been cast with a dye. Colour Glass Filters generally are relatively cheap and very stable. The disadvantage with them is that they are only available in a relatively small number of variants, and so can be restrictive in shortwave selection.

Electrostatic precipitator eMOCarz was design for residential
buildings. Compact size and exceptionally low pressure drop
makes it suitable for residential heat recovery systems, with
little impact on system performance. The filtration efficiency
of ePM1 and ePM2.5 particles, the main component of
smog, is as high as 95%.
Polluted air initially passes through a steel mesh prefilter
(which retains larger fractions), then is positively ionized in
an electric field due to the “crown discharge” effect. In the
last stage, the previously charged particles, are pulled by
electrostatic force toward horizontally mounted aluminium
plates (electrodes) and build up on their surface.
Electrostatic filters (precipitators) have low power consumption
(only few Watts), long service life and most of all there’s no
need to exchanged dirty (clogged) filters. It is enough to
clean in with water and detergent once or twice a year. There
is a led status indicator on the casing.

As well as Knight Optical’s Low GDD Ultrafast Laser Mirrors, we can also provide broadband and wide-angle alternatives to cover more of a range of applications.
Our Wide-Angle Laser Mirrors optimised for the fundamental and second harmonic (SHG) emissions of Ytterbium (Yb) doped lasers including diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) and fiber lasers, and therefore have a design wavelength of either 515nm or 1030nm. The SLC and SRC rectangular duct silencers reduce the noise
level in ventilation and A/C systems. This silencer type is usually
installed between a fan and an air supply or exhaust duct,
and upstream of air supply vents.
All silencers are made of a housing and inner baffles. The
housing is made from galvanized steel sheet and its ends are
framed with steel sheet angles.
All baffles inside the silencer have a round breast at one end
and comprise a galvanized steel frame with a soundinsulating
insert which absorbs the acoustic energy from the air flow.
The soundinsulating insert is a set of nonflammable mineral
wool panels. The outer surface of the soundinsulating insert
is lined with a special abrasionresistant textile to protect the
mineral wool from wear and tear. The mineral wool panels
are finished with a glass fibre lining in black; this lining is
suitable for systems with a maximum air flow rate of 20 m/s.

HRUWALLWI model ductless heat recovery unit comes
equipped with a WiFi module. Its basic parameters, including
max. heat recovery 82%, airflow rate 60 m3/h, and low sound
power level 38 dB (A), are identical to those of the HRUWALL
units.
Methods for pairing devices and controlling them are
different. With the addition of a WiFi module, the device can
be connected to a local wireless network and controlled via a
mobile app. Moreover, the app allows the pairing of devices
by assigning two or more heat recovery units to a group. It is
possible to have many groups so that 1 application can serve
all HRV units in a building.
A temperature sensor and relative humidity sensor are built
into the HRUWALLWI, and the app displays their values.

Knight Optical can offer UV Fused Silica Windows for Vacuum Applications.
UV Fused Silica is a relatively hard optical glass with a very low coefficient of thermal expansion. This means that it is a good choice for us in Vacuum applications, as any difference in temperature will not affect the optical performance.
In addition to the above, UV FS has high transmission from UV to NIR meaning that there is little loss of image when it is used for a Vacuum Window/viewport and therefore the quality of the optical system is not compromised.
All our UV Fused Silica Lenses are fully inspected on their quality in our ISO 9001 certified, state-of-the-art Metrology laboratory, using our Trioptics Optispheric, and Starrett AV300 and Zygo Verifire XPZ. This allows us to work to the highest QA standards and meet the tolerance specifications on these precision components

The RAVAV regulator is dedicated for forced ventilation systems
and is an important component for installations with variable
air flow.
The regulator casing is made of Z 275 galvanized sheet.
Optionally, it is possible to use the 1.4301 stainless steel to build
the casing. Casing sides with factoryinstalled EPDM rubber
gaskets ensure tight connection to ventilation ducts. Inside the
casing, the adjusting damper is also insulated (depending on the
control mechanism). The servomotor is installed on the control
unit casing so as to allow for thermal insulation of the system.
The regulator is also available in the version with preinstalled
50 mm insulation and a galvanised steel shield.
The measuring system based on aluminum impact pressure tubes
and pressure relieve stub pipes ensures reliable measuring of the
air flow.

Quartz optical surfaces flat is tested on our Zygo Verifire XPZ interferometer - Optical flats are single precision flat surfaces. They are used as reference surfaces to compare flatness of a substrate where flatness is unknown. When a high quality optical flat is placed on top of a polished substrate and used in conjunction with a monochromatic light source light bands are formed. The light bands that are present are known as interference fringes and their shape represents how flat the part being tested measures. Dependent on how many rings are formed or how straight the presented lines are is an indication of how flat the tested part is.
Optical flats are used for testing gauge blocks. Optical flats are also used in interferometers and high quality flat optical mirror and window sub-straights for laser applications.
This range of quartz optical flats are single-sided. Quartz has low thermal expansion properties and is very durable and cost effective solution over UV grade fused silica.
