İç kısımda kalan tüp selektif yüzeylidir ve iki tüp arasındaki hava vakumlanmıştır. Böylece oluşabilecek ısı kaybı sıfıra indirgenmiştir. Vakum tüplü güneş enerji sistemleri çetin kış şartlarında bile rahatlıkla kullanılabilir.
