In 1997 with Vitro Laser GmbH, Rémy Renaud, company founder and spiritus rector, laid the foundations for the success story of his subsurface laser engraving that has lasted to today. The systems of Vitro Laser GmbH, which started in 1998 and were launched from Minden in Westphalia, Germany, in the following years, have made a name for themselves on the global markets. At the same time, starting in 1999, the company developed the process at its core for presenting 3D portraits in glass. By 2003, 100 installations had been produced. Consequently, the company then began to develop the appropriate scanner in order to manufacture and offer a complete system comprising laser and 3D scanner.
