Carl Schmidt Sohn AG – tradition since 1829. Carl Schmidt was a qualified blacksmith when he founded CARL SCHMIDT SOHN together with his son in 1829. Its name would go around the world, would become a brand and endures to this day. In its early days, the young company initially specialised in the manufacture of swords. Thanks to its geographic location next to the Wupper river and the local deposits of iron ore and wood for coal, the city of Solingen in western Germany had ideal conditions for metalworking. At the time, no-one could have suspected that Solingen would some day become the centre of the cutting tool industry and that "made in Solingen" would become synonymous with outstanding products and first-rate quality all over the world. Carl Schmidt and his son ran the company extremely successfully from the outset. After just a year, they employed 100 blacksmiths, grinders and labourers. Its close proximity to the city of Cologne is virtually perfect for its extensive bulk production and distribution because Cologne is currently one of the largest and most prosperous trading centres in Germany. This meant that products from CARL SCHMIDT SOHN travelled all around the world from the beginning. Cutting tools from Solingen would soon be considered as hallmarks of the best quality and workmanship. What's more, it achieved this reputation at a time when it took a lot of time for news to spread. Today, customers are simply impressed by the quality and excellence of swords, sabres, knives and shears from Solingen.

After its establishment, the company dealt with distributing disposable non-woven fabric medical wear for wholesale and retail customers, hospitals, medical institutions, and state institutions. A foreign and domestic sales network, the market demand and positive relations with the customers resulted in the company development. The offered assortment was expanded by polypropylene, polyester non-woven fabric and filling materials. Einmed provides its domestic and foreign customers with more than 100 tons of non-woven fabric every month. The next stage of the company development was launching production of mattress covers. C-METAL – QUALITY WITH NO COMPROMISES It all starts with an idea: the idea of developing a mixer lining that is more stable and durable than the original parts from the manufacturer. Driven by this thought, Louis Clos founds C-Metal GmbH in 1988 with headquarters in St. Vith in eastern Belgium, thus laying the foundation for the company’s current success. With constant commitment and the vision of a future-oriented plant, founder Louis Clos invests year after year in the development of new mixer linings and transforms the GmbH into a stock corporation as early as 1992. The part-time tinkering turns into a demanding full-time commitment. In 2004, due to the variety of products and space requirements, the company builds another distribution centre with direct motorway access and creates spacious workplaces with space for careful storage. Since 2007, C-METAL has been actively supported by Georg Schwall in all areas and has ensured that every order is processed quickly and smoothly. In the search for a successor, the next cornerstone for the future was laid in 2017: with the takeover by PSF Mechanik GmbH from Luxembourg, represented by Fernando Leyens, the company expanded in 2018 with a new 1, 200 m2 workshop in Courtil, Belgium. Since then, the wear-resistant steel parts have been manufactured in our own factory using the most modern machines and are delivered worldwide.
