Since then, SAMAG engineers have constantly contributed to improving the quality and efficiency of production processes through pioneering developments and outstanding technological performances. Today, with a team of about 120 employees at our Saalfeld site, we are a successful player in the machine manufacturing business. Our machines and equipment are used around the world in numerous sectors including the automobile industry, tool and mould making and the mechanical engineering sector. SAMAG is synonymous with: Highly-productive CNC machining centres, automation, stable deep drilling technology setting the highest standards as well as special machines for specific and, most importantly, more efficient production lines. Today we are one of the leading manufacturers of: •multi-spindle horizontal machining centres •deep drilling milling centres •deep drilling machines •travelling column machining centres •special machines/customer-specific machine solutions. Our product portfolio also includes so-called retrofit machines. We give old SAMAG tooling machines a new lease of life, returning them to an outstanding and fully-functional condition. In 1974, Paul Joachim Prause founded the company Schichtstofftechnik Prause, which was renamed the P. J. Prause Durotec GmbH in 1998. P. J. Prause had previously, as part of 3M Germany, significantly contributed to shaping the technical application of synthetic leaf springs in Germany with Scotchply™ glass-fibre composites. This enabled Prause Durotec GmbH to acquire more than 35 years of experience in the manufacture and application of leaf springs made from fibre composites. Prause Durotec is a medium-sized company with 16 members of staff and a global customer base. The range of products we manufacture includes all configurations of flat leaf springs with E-glass, S-glass, carbon fibres, with epoxy resin providing the matrix. The procedures used to process the UD prepregs (UD = unidirectional) comply with aeronautical and military standards.
